American Ginseng: Panax quiquefolius

Ginseng is an adaptogen, improving the body’s ability to respond to stress and improving stamina. It has been called the ‘panacea herb’ by the ancient Chinese because of its ability to improve vital energy, sexual energy and enhance digestive power. The actions of American Ginseng are similar to, yet milder than its Chinese cousin. It effectively helps the body to resist shock or collapse and reduces the effects of acute stresses experienced from surgery, illness, work-related stress, student examinations, jet-lag, etc. Ginseng has also been referred to as the ‘longevity herb’ because it has the ability to maintain healthy levels of the adrenal hormones over long periods of time, having a beneficial effect on blood sugar levels, blood pressure, waking and sleeping cycles, and generally contributing to a longer healthier life.

Cautions/Contraindications:
• Millenia of use testify to the relative safety; serious adverse actions are not generally reported.
• Do not use if pregnant or breast feeding
